This was a straight racing format - 200 yard sprint.

Grass Fire near the Ranch

This fire started about 11am on Wednesday, Feb 16. I was 50 miles away in pueblo when Melissa called. The winds were high from the west and the house and hounds would be in dire danger if the winds shifted to the south. KC rushed home from Peterson AFB and got there just as an evacuation order via reverse 911 calls came in. KC & Melissa started our evac plan and just about ready to load dogs when the return home authorization came via phone. The fire dept did a fantastic job of protecting the residences in the fires path and they worked all day and through the night to make sure no hot spots could flare up again.

We were really lucky that the winds did not shift. These photos were taken from the back balcony of our home.
Lots of adrenalin around the Zoiboyz ranch. We are so thankful that Melissa was here to sound the alarm and look after our property and hounds.

The fire was started by a spark coming off of a chop saw being used by a road crew putting in a guard rail.
